R Sailesh of Tamil Nadu won the SRM 1st International FIDE Rating Open Chess tournament 2025 was organised by Golden Knights Chess Academy & Master Mind Chess Academy in association with SRM IST at Major Dhyan Chand Indoor Stadium, SRM IST.
Prizes were distributed by Dr.Bernaurdshaw Neppolian, Dean-Research, SRM IST. Other guests were on the dais are Latest Grandmaster Mr. Srihari L R, GM Elect, of SRM IST, Mr.Senthil Kumar M, Vice President, CGL DCA, Mr. Gokul, SRM IST, Mr.Ganesh Babu S, GKCA & Mr.C Natarajan, Vice President, CGL DCA.

Dr. K Gunasekaran, Controller of Examinations, SRM IST inaugurated the event in the presence of Dr. R Mohanakrishnan, Director of Sports, SRM IST, Dr.M Senthil Kumar, Vice President, CGL DCA, Dr.Albert, SRM IST, Mr.Rajkumar, SRM IST, Mr.Gokul, SRM IST, Mr.C Natrajan, Secretary MMCA and Mr.S Ganesh Babu, Secretary, GKCA.
The total prize money of the event is Rs.5,00,000/- and 80 trophies distributed between children Categories. 446 players from 8 states were participating in this event including one International Master and 226 international FIDE Rated players.
